I was simply honored when my great friend and partner in crime at future art fairs, Peter Roberts, Gallery Director at Savannah’s ever most progressive art gallery, the Location Gallery located inside Corcoran Austin Hill Luxury Real Estate Offices, asked me to participate in their 7th Anniversary show entitled Senses of Place.
I am equally honored to be seen alongside of some of Savannah’s best: Carmen Aguirre, Stacie Jean Albano, Jessie Fream, David Laughlin, Beth Logan, Chris Moss, Bellamy Murphy, Jennifer Nolan, Michelle Perez, Dana Richardson, Jose Ray, Peter E. Roberts, Shelley Smith, June Stratton, Lisa D. Watson and Heather L. Young.
View and bid in the online auction at this LINK. Gallery profits from run of show are donated to Forsyth Farmer's Market.

It truly is an anniversary of sorts, especially considering that it was about this same timeframe six years ago that I was first invited to participate in a Location Gallery Page Rippers show in February of 2017 inspired by the scandalous Savannah novel The Damned Don’t Cry by Harry Hervey. On page 53 there was inspiration (anyone that knows me and my association with the number 53, that the number 53 clearly has a fascination with me). There it was, the sweet $5 bill and the little girl who cried out “ooooooo wee five dollars!”
Upon meeting Peter for the first time we hit it off famously. We found it quite interesting how we had both attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (he was Video, I was Graphic Design) around the same time, and that we must have been running parallel lives, because we knew all the same people, but somehow had never crossed paths… until then. I’ve always believed that friendship is the greatest gift, and Peter you are a great gift to our local arts community. Always giving…
Thank you Peter and Corcoran Austin Hill Luxury Real Estate for all you do, and from time-to-time allowing so much light to shine upon the Savannah arts community. As a locally based, bred, born and raised artist from Savannah, GA, I am eternally grateful for all the opportunities, the kindnesses, the guidance, the connections, everything along the way.
Happy Anniversary Location Gallery!
For Senses of Place, I could not help but be inspired by everything golden, gilded and of the past. Immediately, an image that I had taken at Dungeness on Cumberland Island, Georgia came to mind. A statue of the Roman god Mercury once stood in the mansion’s grand gardens — the god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, messages, communication, travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery, and thieves. It is also said he serves as the guide of souls to the underworld. Wealth, affluence and access leads people down many paths — enter ‘Sam the Banana Man.’
Golden Gilded is a mixed media work measuring 12x12. It is quite traditional in the sense of her work as a graphic designer, yet contemporary in form and approach. It mixes surfaces, color, layout, paper, texture and photography with a sculptural appeal, encased in epoxy — so shiny.
