A singular Loggerhead turtle makes his way to the surf, leaving behind only his flipper prints. The thought process for this image was to somehow place emphasis on the size of the turtle in comparison to the daunting task it has ahead — simply to survive.

Ossabaw Island is a Heritage Preserve owned by the State of Georgia. At approximately 26,000 acres, Ossabaw Island is Georgia’s third largest barrier island.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages the island and the Ossabaw Island Foundation maintains several island buildings and coordinates on-island programming.
